Lockheed

I sculpted Lockheed after his appearances in the Excalibur comic book during Alan Davis' run. He was sculpted entirely out of DAS clay, before I discovered the wonders of polymer clay. While DAS clay is great for sanding, and sculpting with, it is extremely fragile (Lockheed has had his horns/fingers/feet/toes broken off several times), and requires frequent long breaks to allow for drying. I didn't think of using an armature, which would've helped the process enormously.

And hey, he made it into Wizard #86 Homemade Heroes Section!

Serra Angel

This is a work in progress of a Serra Angel that I started back in June '97. I haven't got up the courage to tackle the hard parts yet.

Animated Batman

One of my favourite moments from Batman: The Mask of the Phantasm is when Batman holds his cowl for a moment, before putting it on for the first time. You can almost sense his struggle, as he decides to throws his normal life away. This is a work in progress of Batman at that moment.
